The thrilling 2019 NCAA Men’s Water Polo season is now well under way, with the games being of a very high standard, and all teams in the top 10 proving that this year will come right down to the wire, highlighted by UCSB’s incredible run to their best start in program history.
It was also an exciting week in NCAA Fantasy with teams opting to use their add/drop option. First to make a move was Team Azevedo picking up Long Beach State goalkeeper Marwan Darwish. Then Team Stevenson looked to bolster his squad and utilize his own alumni, Pacific picking up Jon Barry & Jeremie Cote. These moves proved useful, with Barry & Cote combining for 67 points and pushing Team Stevenson into second on the ladder for Week 3, after finishing last in the previous 2 weeks.
It was not enough to beat the best score of the fantasy season to date, 281 points, posted by Team Stellet. With 5/7 players scoring over 33 points and his team combing for a 22-3 record on the week, it was never going to be easy for any other team. This result puts Team Stellet back on top over Team Azevedo, who had edged him for top spot last week.
